The Russian sporting goods retailer Sportmaster, which sells clothing and sport accessories with a turnover of US$1.7 billion in 2018 (up by 20.3% year-on-year) is in negotiations to take over the Polish retail business of Go Sport (33 stores). According to the Kommersant newspaper, owned by the billionaire Alisher Usmanov, the deal could reach US$45 million. Sportmaster, which already operates stores in Russia, China and the Commonwealth of Independent States, would therefore start winning customers in Poland, alongside plans to sell in Germany and France.
