In June 2018, the designer and creative entrepreneur Kate Spade (aged 55) died in New York in a sadly familiar case of depression illness. Born in Kansas City in 1962, Spade started working in New York as an Editor, before she and husband Andrew started the business selling her handbags from their flat with their savings. In 1999, Neiman Marcus acquired 56% in the Spades’ business for US$33.6 million. Liz Claiborne bought the company in 2006 for US$124 million and sold to Coach (now Tapestry) f
