The South African value retailer Steinhoff International is making inroads into the United States after investing US$2.4 billion for Mattress Firm, including net debts. Mattress Firm is the largest U.S. specialty mattress retailer, operating with 3,500 stores and 80 distribution centres. This significant investment should be completed before October 2016. Engaged in a fierce strategy of external growth, Steinhoff also purchased British discount retailer Poundland in July 2016 for US$794...
