Whilst Amazon launched the concept of checkout-free store in January 2018, Tesco, Aldi and Auchan are now following these steps.

In September 2021, Auchan will start the parade by offering an Auchan Go with a 38 sq.m surface on the Edhec business school campus in Lille (Roubaix). Tesco initiated their first staff-free checkout called Getgo on October 19th, at Holborn in London. Trigo, in collaboration with Tesco, has developed A.I. technology within the store for autonomous operation.
