According to newly released data from the Bureau of Labour Statistics, prices for meat, fish and eggs rose by 5.2% in the U.S.A. (yearly change to end of September 2025). Soft drinks increased by 5.3%. For cereals, fruit and dairy, the rise did not exceed 1.6%. In contrast, roasted coffee prices rose over 40% to US$9.14 per pound (from US$6.47), beef mince by 11.5% and bananas by 8.6%.
