The Japanese clothing giant Fast Retailing said it plans massive expansion in the Asia-Pacific region. The Uniqlo Southeast Asia and Oceania store network is set to double by 2022 to 400 stores. The company plans an emphasis on stand-alone suburban stores to expand a Southeast Asian footprint, seeking to move beyond the traditional shopping mall locations. “We opened our first roadside store in Thailand in March 2018, and it has been a huge success” Fast Retailing’s group Senior V.P.
