On November 5, the French government launched proceedings to block Shein’s e-commerce website in France. The move follows a referral by the DGCCRF (France’s consumer protection authority) to the public prosecutor on November 1, after listings were found for childlike sex dolls and category A weapons on Shein’s marketplace. Shein, the world’s fourth-largest fashion retailer (€38 billion in 2024 revenue, up by 19%), said the material had been removed the ads and items banned for sale by merchants
