General Principle
Artificial intelligence tools are assistance tools for editorial production. As such, they cannot be used in our publications to produce editorial content ex nihilo or to replace editorial teams. The use of artificial intelligence aims to improve the quality of content produced by mind and/or to enhance the practice of journalism. Regardless of their nature or purpose, artificial intelligence tools are used within a specific framework and under the supervision of editorial teams.
Use Cases
mind has identified several key internal use cases that may rely on artificial intelligence:
- Coding assistance
- Headline suggestions, particularly for SEO purposes
- Keyword identification assistance
- Summarization of complex external documents
- Data extraction and processing
- Skill development for internal teams
- Translation assistance
- Suggested summary generation (e.g., 3 key points for a long article) with mention of AI use
- Transcription assistance for interviews and discussions
- Assistance in preparing roundtable moderation
- Writing assistance for social media
The use cases identified and deployed by mind fall under editorial production assistance, with the goal of providing “companion tools” to improve our journalistic practice (investigation support, information verification, data usage, etc.) or to enhance our SEO performance.
Supervision
The use of generative AI assistance is always conducted under the supervision of editorial teams, who verify and validate the generated elements. This process must be documented internally.
Transparency and Traceability
Readers must be informed of the use of generative AI in mind’s editorial production.
The use of generative AI in editorial processes or in data collection and processing must be disclosed and, where appropriate, explained in a methodological note.
