The open strike supposed to start today, October 29, was canceled. Indeed, last night, the metal social partners reached an agreement on wages, with an increase between 2.6 and 3.2 percent depending on the categories, i.e. 2.85 percent in average. Like last year, the issue of flexible working time was left on the side to avoid putting the talks at a standstill. Subsequent debates, with a deadline on June 30, 2014, should – in theory – settle employers’ new claims on the extension of working time or the calculation of overtime. (Ref. 130662)
