Denmark: a 5.85% pay rise over three years in the banking sector

On 28 February a three-year agreement was secured between the Finansforbundet union and the employers’ body, Finanssektorens Arbejdsgiverforening that covers some 43,000 in the banking sector. The agreement intends for a total 5.85% pay rise with local negotiations having secured its largest ever share of this total. In return the employers’ body secured more flexibility over working hours. The agreement will come into force on 01 April 2017.

A more ‘Local’ pay rise. “Given the sector’s economic earnings and significant changes it is facing, employees have secured a sizeable yet still reasonable pay rise,” enthused Kent Peterson, president of Finansforbundet during a presentation of the results of the negotiations.
