After the acquisition of the Swiss insurer Winterthur by Axa, announced on June 14th of this year, and the real takeover which should take place on January 1st 2007, Axa's management and its European WC must decide on the fate of the existing EWC of Winterthur. (Ref. 06995)
During the next meetings of the secretariat and bureau of Axa’s EWC, which will be held on November 7th and 8th 2006, the workers’ representatives and management should agree on the fate of Winterthur’s EWC (8000 employees) which has 16 permanent members. The proposal to renegotiate the agreement on Axa’s EWC was rejected by management and the secretariat of the EWC. « It is a good agreement and we don’t want to renegotiate it », explains Daniel Vaulot (CFDT), secretary of Axa’s EWC.
