On April 24, 2013, 1,135 employees died and more than 2,000 were injured in this tragedy. After it, the worst in the history of the textile industry, the sector’s stakeholders commenced many actions in different areas: improving plant safety, wage increases for the sector’s workers, and the introduction of a compensation procedure for the victims and families of this catastrophe.
