Luxembourg: the Minister of Employment evaluates de situation on the government’s restructurings policy

The Minister for Labour and Employment, François Biltgen, explained, on February 20, 2007, the policy that the Luxembourgish government chose in terms of restructurings. This intervention is justified by the fact that "unions and employers announce very divergent opinions" on this policy, initiated by the law voted on December 22, 2006, and effective since January 1, 2007 (See our story °070032). François Biltgen explained that his policy “aims at favouring in a proactive way the retention of employees at work during reorganization and at avoiding, as much as possible, the negotiation of a redundancy plan”.
