Belgium: a royal decree concerning the protection of workers against exposure to asbestos was published

A royal decree passed on June 8, 2007, amending the royal decree passed on March 16, 2006, concerning workers' protection against risks linked to exposure to asbestos, appeared in the Belgian Monitor on June 22, 2007. This decree transposes into Belgian law the three European directives which amended the 83/477 directive passed on September 19, 1983. (Ref. 070633)

This decree is the transposition into Belgian law of the directive 83/477 passed in the Council of September 19, 1983 concerning workers’ protection against risks linked to exposure to asbestos at work (second special directive in the way of article 8 of the directive 80/1107,) amended by the 91/382 directive passed on June 25, 1991, by the 98/24 directive passed on April 7, 1998 and by the 2003/18 directive passed on March 27, 2003.
