Belgium: a shock campaign by the FGTB condemning the misuse of daily agency contracts

By announcing, to a fanfare of publicity the launch of a new daily contract recruitment agency, only to disclose that that the agency was in a fact a hoax, the FGTB had decided to organize a shock campaign as a platform designed to call for the end of these extremely short duration work contracts. The FGTB has thus adopted its position by demanding that the daily contract be abolished, ahead of the renegotiations of this convention set for 2015.

A shock campaign. On Friday September 19, 2014 everything was put in place to welcome the setting up of the ‘One Day Interim’ recruitment agency specializing in temporary one-day work contracts. The agency came with a slogan “Dare your daily talent”, its own website, a press kit and a press conference. On top of this several Belgian daily papers advertised the imminent opening of the agency. In fact all of this was an FGTB publicity campaign drawing attention to the problem of temporary workers
