Today, 25 May, Labor Minister Kris Peeters, delivered the results of elections to 3,000 Works Councils (WCs) and 6,000 Committees for Prevention and Protection at the Workplace (CPPWs) that were held between 09 and 22 May.
Against a backdrop of lower participation rates as compared with those in 2012 (776,867 votes for the WCs, and 856,885 for the CPPWs making a participation rate of 63.5% and 65.4% down from 70% four years ago) the liberal Christian union, CSC, confirms it lead position over the other organizations. With 91.3% of the votes counted the CSC has already garnered 50.98% of the WCs’ votes (it is expecting 55.75% at the final tally) and 51.80% of the CPPWs (it is expecting 57.97% at the final tally).
