Belgium: the Court of Justice is sanctioning the Belgian state because it did not transpose the information-consultation directive

The Court of justice of the European Communities condemned, on March 29, 2007, the Belgian government, because it did not transpose into internal law the March 2002 European directive which plans the workers' information and consultation. Belgium is two years' late in implementing this directive's text (see our story n°070282.) if the Belgian government does not straighten its position, the European Commission could take the matter to Court once again. Heavy penalties would thus come along this second condemnation. (Ref. 070295)
