The Doorn group, composed of Belgian, German, French, Luxembourg and Dutch labour unions, met at the end of last week in Brussels. Objective: to discuss the coordination of collective negotiations and avoid a wage competition between countries. (Ref 06999)
During this 8th political conference, the Doorn group (*) reminded of its will to avoid wage competition in order to allow real wage increases in every country. To do this, labour unions will continue taking as starting point of any negotiation concerning wages a margin which simultaneously considers the inflation and the increase in productiveness, these two criteria are known as «the Doorn formula ».
