The Confederation of Christian labour unions (CSC) is going to go through all electoral rolls of the far right parties (Vlaams Belang and National Front), established during the communal elections of October 8th, 2006, to spot possible members of the CSC. These will be excluded from the trade union. The other big trade union confederation, the FGTB, wants to do the same thing, but did not yet decide how. (Ref 061004)
According to the daily De Standaart, this strong attitude is not new, but by the past, the CSC was rather focused on union activists, for instance delegates. The president of the CSC, Luke Cortebeeck, now wants to hunt down the ordinary members. « They are not welcomed here », he said. This policy of systematic eviction is based on a CSC congress resolution.
