In recent months the Chinese government has sought to demonstrate that its efforts over the past two years to ensure closer financial and regulatory supervision of the country's platform economy should be accompanied by measures to support employment in the sector, such as by promoting flexible work. On 7 July, a much-publicised directive from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MORHSS) incorporated gig economy 'odd jobs' in public employment information services.
Shift confirmed in spring.
