This report will be introduced to European leaders at the next European Council (March 23rd and 24th). It draws an assessment of gender inequality in terms of employment and proposes some remedies. (Ref. 06186)

Statistics are still eloquent: the employment rate of women in the EU (55,7%) is 15 points lower than the rate for men, women earn 15% less than men, the part-time employment rate is much higher for women (32%, vs 7% for men), and in the companies only 3% of women are managers, 10% are members of a board of directors, and 32% are executives. However, there is some progress: more than 75% of new jobs on the EU these last 5 years were attributed to women.
