As of July 1, the minimum wage will go up from the current gross HRK 2,441 (€336.789) to about 2,747 (€379.008), the Croatian government said at a session on Thursday May 15, sending a bill on the minimum wage to parliament to be discussed under urgent procedure. (Ref. 080439)
The bill refers to some 115,000 workers (7.6 percent) of all employed persons, who receive monthly wages of less than HRK 2,500 (€344.961), said State Secretary at the Economy Ministry, Vera Babic. Prime Minister Ivo Sanader recalled that the bill had been agreed by the social partners, and described it as a big success of social partnership.
