As a consequence of the constant emigration, Lithuania lacks of qualified workers, specialists, people in services and trade. Lithuania is even more concerned by this challenge than its Baltes neighbors (Ref. 06407)
The current Statistics Department survey on vacant labour places by main profession groups says, that in 2005, most vacant labour places concerne workers and handicraftsmen (24.5 per cent of all vacant labour places), specialists (from the social and health sector) (21.6 per cent), and people working within services and trade (15.6 per cent.).
