A recent reform, set to come into force on January 1, 2009, introduces a few amendments to temporary work regulations. From now on, the user company can be punished if it doesn't respect agency workers' rights. Besides, the government introduced a draft reform clarifying working conditions temporary workers should enjoy having regard to equal treatment. The user company can be punished. Currently if the rules on agency employment are breached, regardless of the party actually violating the rule, only the work agency can be sanctioned. The amendment closes this loophole by including in the Act on Labor Inspection provisions on penalties in relation to agency work. As a result Labor Inspectorates will be free to impose fines of up to CZK 1 million (approximately €40.000) on both users of agency workers as well as work agencies. The main obligati
