Denmark: agreement on the reform of the body in charge of working environment in businesses

In order to “strengthen, develop and modernize” cooperation between employees, management and employers on health and safety at work, the social partners and the labor inspectorate agreed, on April 27, on a “new concept” of organizations in charge of working environment. Announcing that this agreement will be included into a bill to be presented to Parliament in the fall, Minister of Labor Inger Stojberg ensured that “the organization of health and safety at work will also be easier in terms of administrative procedures.” Two years after the enforcement of the new rules (January 1, 2011), the signatory parties will analyze the impact of the agreement.
