On February 16, Dansk Erhverv for employers and HK Handel for unions signed an agreement renewing the retail trade industry’s collective agreement (butiksoverenskomsten), which covers about 110,000 employees. In terms of size, it is the second largest agreement in Denmark. The deal, signed for 3 years, increases minimum wage, improves training and parental leave rights, and contains measures aiming to stop forced part-time from spreading.
More training rights. Following in the footsteps of the manufacturing agreement (see article No. 8164), seniority to access funding to train with the Commerce Fund for Developing Skills (Handlens Kompetenceudviklingsfond) goes from 9 down to 6 months and employees can get an additional week of training paid by this fund if they are laid off.
