On 10 June the European Commission presented a new and comprehensive Skills Agenda for Europe in a bid to boost skills acquisition and use. The measures include a ‘Skills Guarantee’ so that every EU citizen can acquire a minimum level of competencies.
The European Commission unveiled a new instrument to tackle unemployment, namely ‘A new Skills Agenda for Europe’ (not to be confused with the EC 2010Agenda for New Skills and Jobs). In it the EC aims for available competencies to be better used as well as faster specific competencies’ acquisition necessary for the future.
