On January 31, 2006, the Commission adopted the draft application regulation which must define the details of implementation for regulation 883/2004 on the coordination of social security legislations. This must replace, in the long term, the famous regulation 1408/71. (Ref. 06115)
The draft regulation will terminate the reform aimed at simplifying and modernizing coordination as regards social security and, by doing this, will improve insured people’s rights within the EU… well, if negotiations on this text in Member States, which must intervene within the Council of Ministers, do not make this objective worthless.
