EU: draft revision of the Directive over posting of workers is maintained

The European Commission persisted and signed by deciding to maintain its proposal over social dumping that supports wage equality between local and posted workers. On Wednesday 20 July, it decided to reject the 14 national parliaments behind the Yellow Card procedure.

As a reminder, during the spring, the European Commission had proposed introducing more equity in terms of pay for local and posted workers. It welcomes the fact that workers on temporary postings by their employers to a different EU Member State receive both the minimum wage operating in the host country, as is currently the situation, as well as any bonus payments provided for in the host country’s relevant collective agreements (for example the 13th month bonus), (c.f. article No. 9538). Yet
