EU: economic crisis in the background of EPSU’s 8th Congress

IPS-Europe/EPSU merger. This meeting, held every five years, officialized the merger of the EPSU and the European unit of the International Public Services union (IPS). This decision brings the federation from 224 to 255 member organizations. Besides, the EPSU becomes the IPS’ regional branch in charge, of course, of the European continent but also of central Asia and Israel. The two organizations are stronger, especially near Europe and outside where they can coordinate their action better, say their respective general secretaries, Peter Waldorff and Carola Fischbach-Pyttel.
