On 27 June, both employers (Eurelectric) and unions (EPSU and IndustriALL Europe) signed an agreement laying down a minimum framework for trainees in the electricity sector. The signatories will work together to promote the agreement in a bid to deploy it at national level (sector and/or business).
In 2013 the electricity sector’s social partners agreed a joint declaration on trainees (c.f. article No.130185). The agreement of 27 June 2016 stems from the EU recommendation on a Quality Framework for Traineeships (c.f. article No. 8237) and sets minimum standards for hiring trainees, including:
- A written traineeship agreement indicating the educational objectives, adequate working conditions, rights and obligations, including a reasonable duration for traineeships to ensure a quality lear
