By adopting, today April 16, the compromise reached with the Council of Ministers on the proposal on the enforcement of Directive 96/71/EC concerning the posting of workers, the MEPs have secured the permanent conclusion of this case. Indeed, discordant voices were heard up to the last minute. The Council still needs to formally adopt the text in the coming weeks.
The compromise reached at the last minute by the Parliament and Council in February (see article No. 8234) on this proposal could have been questioned until the very last moment.
