EU: European social partners in the banking sector publish joint statement on CSR

European social partners in the banking sector have agreed in November 2013 and signed on January 31 a joint statement on CSR.  It revises the Joint Statement signed in 2005, taking into account the sector’s current challenges after the financial crisis. The statement points to social dialogue as a means of restoring trust in the financial sector and managing change.

The joint statement was signed by the organization involved in the banking sector’s European social dialogue committee, namely UNI Europa Finance for unions and the European Association of Co-operative Banks, European Banking Federation and the European Savings and Retail Banking Group for employers. It refers to the conclusions of the ILO Global Dialogue Forum conclusions which took place in Geneva in 2009 on the impact of the crisis on the financial sector workers, which points to social dia
