EU: European social partners in the chemicals, pharmaceuticals, rubber and plastics sector launch an online survey on workplace digital transformation

Aimed at the representatives of business leaders, trade unions and employees who are working on Digitalization, HR, and Health and Safety issues, this survey project should enable the European Social partners – the ECEG (European Chemical Employer’s Group) and IndustriALL Europe - to collect and analyse the perspectives of those working directly with digital transformation and its impact on the workplace. Data collection continues until the end of September with the survey being part of a two-year project and steered within the framework of European Social Dialogue (Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Rubber, and Plastics), and which is expected to deliver an action plan to support local actors better manage digital transformation.

The survey (here) addresses the:

  • Impact of digitalization on the quality of work and on changes in the nature of work,
  • Requirement for new competences,
  • Transformation of jobs due to automation (robotics) and artificial intelligence,
  • Impact of automation and robotics on industrial processes and value chains,
  • Digital services and products.
