The European Commission will deliver an extra €1 billion between 2017 and 2020 in a bid to tackle youth unemployment. Thus an element of proposals put forward and adopted on 14 September by the College of Commissioners at the halfway mark of the multi-year financial framework. The EU’s Youth Guarantee is set to continue for a further three years, although with limited funding. The EU Commission is to provide fresh support for this instrument via an injection of €1 billion destined to help youths enter the jobs market.
