In the communication adopted yesterday, “REFIT - Fit for growth,” the European Commission announced that it was going to implement a Regulatory Fitness and Performance Programme (REFIT) for several social regulations, starting with those on the information and consultation of workers. It also confirms that it intends to ‘abandon’ health and safety. The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) says the main point is to deregulate European labor law.
