On 16 April, MEPs adopted the European Labour Authority (ELA) regulation, as well as directives protecting whistleblowers and on transparent working conditions geared to safeguarding working rights for non-standard workers. Both the directive on transparent working standards for non-standard workers and the ELA regulation required compromise between the institutions (Commission, Parliament, and the Council that had already validated them). Parliament’s formal adoption represents their final stage in the political process. The compromise directive on whistleblowers however still requires adoption by the EU Council of Ministers.
