Representatives from the European Parliament, the Commission and the French presidency reached an agreement on a compromise on the recast of the EWC directive. The text, which notably settles the problem of the definition of transnational issues, should be adopted, if everything goes as expected, on December 15 by MEPs and then permanently by the Council of EU Ministers on December 16 and 17. To be permanently adopted during the next Council of EU Social Ministers, the recast of the EWC directive they adopt has to be similar to that voted by the Plenary Assembly of the European Parliament on December 15.
