EU: Parliament bolsters rules to protect workers from asbestos

On 5 October, MEPs approved the directive seeking to boost protection of workers against the risks of exposure to asbestos with a very large majority (614 votes in favour, two against and four abstentions). The text reduces the limit for occupational exposure by a factor of 10, from 0.1 to 0.01 asbestos fibres per cubic centimetre.
