At their meeting on October 16, the social partners (ETUC – BUSINESSEUROPE – CEEP – UEAPME) and Commissioner Vassiliou, in charge of education and culture, decided to strengthen cooperation in the preparation and implementation of education and training policies, in order to promote social dialogue on these themes. The areas and priorities of cooperation are defined in a document that has to be approved by all the parties. (Ref. 130650)
Axes for cooperation. Four priorities were defined:
1) Providing quality education: improving the attractiveness of vocational education and training (VET), improving basic skills in primary and secondary education, and achieving excellence in higher education.
2) Curricula development, e-skills, work-based learning, school-work transitions.
