The Slovenian presidency, which started on January 1 and is going to last for six months, presented its work programme. This first semester will mainly be dedicated to the beginning of a new cycle for the Lisbon strategy, which will notably be characterized by the enforcement at national level of flexicurity principles. New three-year cycle for the Lisbon strategy. Renewed in 2005 in order to concentrate on growth and quicken reforms, the Lisbon strategy’s new three-year cycle will be launched by heads of States and governments of the twenty-seven EU Member States during the European Council which will take place on March 13 and 14.
