In a few days, the European Year of Workers' Mobility will come to an end. Meanwhile, a report from the Dublin foundation shows that only 4% of EU citizens have ever left their country for another EU country, end less than 3% intend to do so in the coming five years. Less than one European in two believes geographical mobility -whatever the distance- is positive for the economy and the labour market. (Ref. 061238)
Officially, geographical mobility is possible for all European citizens. But in reality, few people use this opportunity, and many people don’t believe mobility is positive for the social end economical environment.
