During the first day of the European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF's) congress, on June 6, 2007, the 400 delegates from 68 affiliated trade union organizations representing 33 countries renewed the federation's leading team and elected a new chairman. (Ref. 070518)
The EMF’s new chairman is Renzo Ambrosetti, president of Unia (Switzerland) and member of the EMF’s executive committee for several years, as well as of the committee “collective negotiations’ policy.” He gathered 97% of the votes and is replacing the Belgian Tony Janssen (CCMB) who claimed his right to retirement.
