Facing the challenges to which the sea transport sector is confronted (unfair competition, social dumping, flags of convenience and so on,) the European transport workers’ federation (ETF) sent all European deputies letters in which it insists on the urgent need to adopt a common regulation in order to preserve jobs and skills in this sector. As part of its “excellence sector” campaign, the ETF interpellated European deputies on the need to adopt, in the maritime transport sector, especially for ferries, a regulation comparable to those existing for other transportation sectors.
