The European Commission published, on March 8, two studies on gender equality. The first one, entitled "Equality between women and men – 2008", analyzes women's situation on the Labor Market and the second, "Women and men in decision-making 2007", takes a close look at women's participation in decision-making. According to the annual report “Equality between women and men – 2008”, women’s employment rate reached 57.2% in 2006, which means that it is slightly increasing. Women’s unemployment rate – 9% – is at its lowest rate in ten years.
