One week before publication of the European Commission's series of measures in terms of energetic policy and fight against global warming, the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) and the European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF) took action. The two organizations are worried about the consequences that the measures, which will be revealed on January 22, will have on employment. (Ref. 080048)
Tomorrow, Tuesday, the European Commission will present several bills concerning energetic and environmental policy. These bills aim at:
- Extending and enforcing, starting in 2013, the European Emission Trade System (EU ETS), cornerstone of the EU strategy to reduce CO² emission.
- Establishing a differentiated limit, to respect by 2020, in terms of greenhouse gas for each Member State in sectors which don’t depend from the EU ETS.
