The Finnish Minister of Social Affairs and Health, Liisa Hyssälä, created, on March 10, 2008, a pension forum to control and evaluate the enforcement of pensions for 2005 and 2007. The aim is to better take into account population ageing, which started earlier in Finland than in other European countries, and to promote dialogue between the organizations concerned. (Ref. 080213)
15 months after the establishment of the former pension’s reform, in January 2007, the reform cycle has resumed with this forum, which will gather 2 to 3 times a year to talk about the measures to adopt to increase resources to fund the system, and notably alternative solutions to the increase in contributions logically resulting from population ageing.
