The Finnish social partners and public powers just agreed on a project to fight against exposure to crystalline silica dust. This is to implement the European multi-sector agreement signed on April 25, 2006 between the social partners of the sectors concerned (see our article No. 06410). (Ref. 080454)
In Finland, there would have been more than 30.000 in contact with crystalline silica, plus about ten cases of silicosis every year, while the World Health Organization launched, in 1995, the ILO/WHO international program for the elimination of silicosis in the world.
