Finland: trade union of electricians blockades Polish company accused of social dumping

This new case of social dumping, very mediatised, involves trade unions that blocked the activities of a Polish company which failed to observe the conventional minimum wage. This is yet another demonstration of one of trade unions' most important powers.(Ref. 061229)

MSB, a Polish electricity company based in Gdansk and posting workers in Finland, was accused by Finnish trade unions of severely violating the rules regarding working conditions and salaries. The Polish electricians, working on various construction sites, were paid 5 euros an hour, whereas the Finnish collective agreement imposes at least 15 euros.
