The European Commission validated, on July 4, a first State aid of 6.24 million Euros that the Flemish government plans to grant the Ford-Werke factory, located in Ghent, Belgium ("Ford Genk"). This aid is for training purposes. However, the second aid of 6,04 million Euros is considered incompatible Community rules on State aid. (Réf. 06687)
The Flemish government wished to grant an aid of 12.28 million Euros in favour of a training scheme, whose total cost amounts to 33.84 million Euros, in Ford Genk (5000 employees), the Belgian subsidiary of the Ford Motor company.
